History and Visitor Experience

Located in İnönü, Eskişehir, near Bilecik, the area offers an interesting combination of historical caves and Türkiye's long-standing sport aviation heritage.

The İnönü Caves developed in the middle section of the large rocky ridge overlooking the district. Their large entrance can be seen from a considerable distance, and the caves are located along the southern edge of the İnönü (Sarısu) Plain. According to official records, the cave has a length of approximately 235 metres and a depth of +48 metres. Archaeological excavations in the area have uncovered finds dating back to the Chalcolithic Age, as well as pottery from the Phrygian, Byzantine and Ottoman periods.

Another important landmark in the area is the Turkish Aeronautical Association's İnönü Aviation Training Center. Established in 1936 on the orders of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the center has played an important role in Türkiye's sport aviation history. Today, training activities include gliding, parachuting, hang gliding, paragliding, model aircraft and other sport aviation disciplines.

Located approximately 42 km from Ramada by Wyndham Bilecik, İnönü offers an interesting day-trip option for guests interested in history and sport aviation. The İnönü Caves and THK İnönü Aviation Training Center can be explored as part of a route combining the area's natural, historical and aviation heritage.
